He was predeceased by : his mother Theda Williams Vicks; and his brother Robert Grasty. He is survived by : his father Cleother Vicks; his stepmother Willa; his sisters, Wanda Gregg, Wendy Vicks and Tiffany Grasty; and his children, Weldon Hill, Elizabeth Ward, Brittnei Cooper, Edward B. Vicks, Jr. and Rasheed Norris. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
