He was predeceased by : his sisters, Nivart Ayvatyan of Montreal and Suzan Antilian. He is survived by : his wife Araksi Torunyan; his children, Beatrice Torunian Buchanan (Andy) and Vahe Torunian (Mary Beth); his grandchildren, JT and Alanna; and his nieces and nephews, Anahid, Rita, Kevork, Nurhan and Bogos.
