He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Welsh and Bertha Welsh (Hons); and his brother Richard Welsh. He is survived by: his children, Keith Altieri, Angeline Shultz, Jamaica Gordner and Jennica Welsh-Whitesell (Joel); his siblings, Robert Welsh Sr., Edward Welsh, Thomas Welsh, Michael Welsh, Sr. and Donna Welsh; and his grandchildren, Thomas Welsh Jr., Joey Colon, Obie Benner, Matthew Altieri, Kitana Welsh, Nitara Welsh, Jasmine Colon, Lucy Colon, Nevaya Robbins, Joellea Whitesell, Vera Whitesell, Kali Benner and Kacie Altieri.
