He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy Schmidt (Leshock); his parents, Lawrence Schmidt and Anna Schmidt (Czech); his son Jeffrey B. Schmidt; and his brother Joseph Schmidt.
He is survived by: his children, Regina M. Shade (Dwayne L. Shade) of Wyomissing, Lawrence Stanley Schmidt (Mary T. Schmidt) of Harrisburg and Julianne D. Rutkowski (Michael D. Rutkowski) of Wyomissing; and his daughter-in-law Kristin Schmidt of Allentown. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
