He was predeceased by: his wife Lenore Bittner; and his parents, Walter Bittner and Edna Bittner (Schmidt). He is survived by: his children, Virginia Schaeffer (David), Jeffrey Bittner of Mohrsville, David Bittner (Barbara) of Mohrsville and Mark Bittner (Lori) of Mohrsville; his grandchildren, Krystle Weaver (Noah), Jaryd Bittner, Abigail and Elizabeth Schaeffer; his son Jeremy Miller; his great grandchildren, Jamison and Addison Weaver; and his close friend Mary Ferry.
