He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar A. Bitner and Evelyn C. Bitner (Reber); and his sister Carol A. Bitner. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Jane Bitner (Spatz); his children, Christopher A. of Syracuse, NY and Carol E. Bitner (Peter Alvarez); his stepchildren, R. Scott Zechman (Lee Ann Goldstock), Todd Zechman (Amy Beaton), Nantucket and Amy E. Smedley (John); his grandchildren, Gretchen Smith (Ben) and Jonathan Bitner; and his stepgrandchildren, Kathryn (Courtney Curtis), Sean, Samantha, Zachary, Benjamin, Abigail Zechman, Margaret, Emily and Jack Smedley.
