He is survived by: his wife Joyce Carter; his children, Shawn Carter, Bonita Johnson (Charles) of York, Pennsylvania, Karen Ferguson (Rayland) of York, Pennsylvania, Rhonda Carter of York, Pennsylvania, Gwendolyn Jones (Gary) of York, Pennsylvania and Terry Flemings of Killeen, Texas.; his stepdaughters, Kia Loper (Rob) of York and Tara Young (Andre) of Jacksonville, Florida; his sisters, Carol A. Thompson and Madell Clark; and his sister-in-law Mildred Carter of York. He is also survived by grandchildren, great‑grandchildren, a great‑great‑grandchild, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
