He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Van and Frances Van of Water; and his siblings, Peter, Sally, Harriet and Henry.
He is survived by: his significant other Jane; his children, Sally (Michael) and Peter (Kristin); his grandchildren, Gabriel (Jordan), Grace (Bryan), Julius, Olivia, Isla and Ainsley; his great grandchildren, Kensley and Lilyana; and his sister-in-law Beth. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and their children, and friends and loved ones.
