He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth S. Barnhart and Goldie Barnhart (Crist); and his siblings, Ronald, Kenneth, Ruby and Ann.
He is survived by: his wife Janet E. Barnhart (Diehl); his children, Loretta Griffith (Charles), Edward Barnhart, Jr. (Rebecca), Daniel Barnhart (Randye) and Lynette Lease (Michael); his grandchildren, Renee, Angela, Joshua, Chad, Amie, Ryan, Whitney, Samantha, Jon-Michael, Taylor and Shannon; and his siblings, Terry Barnhart (Sue) and Brenda Sterling. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
