He was predeceased by: his wife Norma Jean Heiland (Jones); his parents, John Mervin and Cora Ann Heiland (Trimmer); and his siblings, Alice Louise Heiland, Pauline Agnes Baublitz, John Marvin Heiland, Jr., Verna Ann Haynes, Harry Henry Heiland, Bertha Jane Markle, Rufus Harlan Heiland and Gene Calvin Heiland.
He is survived by: his children, Sharon L. Good (Richard, Jr.) of Bloomsburg, Brenda L. Hager (Rob) of York and Gary E. Heiland, II (Michelle) of York; his grandchildren, Christopher R. Good (Janet), Michael D. Good (Bethany), David A. Good (Sara), Robert C. Hager, Cali E. Hager, Sarah J. Cook (Josh), Andrew J. Heiland and Emily G. Heiland; his great grandchildren, Benjamin C. Z. Good, Samuel C. Good, Elizabeth N. Good, John R. Good, Rachel L. Good, Jackson J. Good, Zoey J. Good of Isla, C. S and Aselia V. Good; and his sister Barbara Leona Gemmill of York.
