He was predeceased by: his parents, William Joyce and Lillie Ann Joyce (Reese); his former wife Jane Elizabeth Joyce (White); his siblings, Lillie Ann Walker, Alice Provin, Mary Pandelakis and Frank Wharton; his nephews, Harry Walker and Frank "Champ" Wharton II; and his brother-in-law John Provin.
He is survived by: his wife Jewell Joyce; his children, Jennifer Pate, Jerry Joyce II and Jessica Eager; his children-in-law, Bryan Pate and Amanda Joyce; his siblings, Clarence Joyce, Alton Wharton, William Joyce, Kathy Baranski and Joy Scott; his siblings-in-law, Jim Walker, Dennis Pandelakis, Jerry Baranski, Steve Scott, Barbara Joyce, Kathleen Joyce, Catherine Wharton and Doris Wharton; his grandchildren, Carli Nardo, Danny Nardo, Maggie Pate, Declan Pate, Clare Pate, Molly Pate, Jerry Joyce III, Lottie Joyce, Keon Joyce, Ellie Eager and Dean Eager; and his great grandchild Scarlett Dorrell.
