He was predeceased by: his wife Bonnie A. Hayes (Sharp); his parents, Warren Hayes and Ruth Brodbeck (Tyson); his half-brother Keenan Hayes; his stepsister Joanne Spangler; and his grandson Aaron.
He is survived by: his children, Shannon Crist (Jesse) of York, Brian Hayes (Jill) of Arizona and Gregory J. Hayes (Lisa) of Texas; his brother Barry Hayes of Lancaster; and his half-sister Sherry Chubb of Windsor. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
