She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert Hoover Smith and Pearl A. Smith (Chambers); her daughter Melba Coleman Paige; and her siblings, Earl Smith, Dale Smith and Fontina Smith Fleck.
She is survived by: her spouse Thomas G. Peters; her granddaughter Ajianna Coleman; her children, Carmen Coleman-Glasco, Shawn Peters (Lauren) and Shannon Peters (Tara); her son-in-law Duane Paige; and her siblings, Herbert Smith, James Smith, Timothy Smith, Darrly Smith, Mark Smith, Carolyn Smith Hernandez, Pamela Smith and Tina Smith Jones. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
