He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Gerz, (Krimmel) and Richard C. Gerz, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Barbara (Childs); his children, Melissa Dissinger (Christopher) of Lancaster, Michelle Kerns (Dan) of Bethlehem and Matthew Gerz (April Hartman) of Maytown; his grandchildren, Matthew Dissinger (Jocelyn), Andrew Dissinger (Chelsey), Tyler Macsi, Nick Ketner, Chase Gerz and Mia Kerns; and his brother Charles F. Gerz (Colleen Casem Gerz). He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. John Neumann Catholic Church (601 E Delp Rd, Lancaster, PA 17601). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
