She was predeceased by: her parents, Sylvester Kern and Eugenia Paull Kern; her husband Norbert L. Belsterling; her daughter Cynthia Belsterling; and her siblings, Richard Kern and Jean Ziaukas.

She is survived by: her children, William Belsterling, Norbert Belsterling (Judy) of Harmony, Thomas Belsterling (Annette) of Rochester, Robert Belsterling (Kim Ralston) of Rochester, Diane Schwarz (Frederick) of Hudson, OH, Donna Massari (Thomas) of Irwin, Carol Keener (Thomas) of Portersville, John "Jack" Belsterling (Beth Ann Keener) of Rochester, Jean Lawson (Jason) of Cranberry Twp and Joseph Belsterling (Laurel) of Rochester; and her sister Lois Sullivan (Robert) of Kansas. She is also survived by her 26 grandchildren; her 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 27th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Boylan Funeral Home (324 E Grandview Ave, Zelienople, PA 16063). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Divine Grace Parish-St. Gregory Catholic Church (2 W Beaver St, Zelienople, PA 16063).

Memorial donations may be made in Marilyn's honor to St. Gregory School, 115 Pine St., Zelienople, PA 16063, or St. Gregory Church – Divine Grace Parish, 2 W Beaver St., Zelienople, PA 16063.
