He was predeceased by: his parents, James B. Trail and Barbara R. Trail (Choate); and his sister Gretchen Kreuer. He is survived by: his wife Dee; his daughters, Elizabeth J. Trail-Burns (Jeffrey) of Fuquay-Varina, Laura J. Trail of Riverside and Katherine C. Kelley (Brian) of Cranston; his grandchildren, James, Paige, Ava, Lila, Vera, Dillon and Aria; and his sister Jennifer Priveé (Andy) of Richmond. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
