He was predeceased by: his wife Ernestine Mello (O'Connor); his parents, Manuel S. Mello and Maria Mello (Frias); and his siblings, Anthony Mello, Maria Roy and Manuel Mello.
He is survived by: his close friend Maureen Marchina of Barrington; his children, Christine A. O'Grady of Barrington and Joseph J. Mello (Deana) of Seekonk, MA; his grandchildren, Sarah O'Grady (Sean Gillis), Luke J. O'Grady, Joseph D. Mello and Brett P. Mello; and his brother John Mello of Warwick.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM at the Raymond Watson Funeral Home (350 Willett Ave, Riverside, RI 02915). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Brendan Church (60 Turner Ave, Riverside, RI 02915).
