She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph M. Sousa; her parents, Manuel and Mary P. Fernandes; her son Glenn Sousa; and her brother Manuel "Pepsi" Fernandes.

She is survived by: her daughter Karen Mello of East Providence; her grandson Brandon Mello (Kindra) of Huntington Beach, CA; and her great grandchildren, Austin Mello and Brett Mello.
