We announce the death of Bonnie L. Burns of Bristol, Rhode Island, who passed away on August 8, 2026, at the age of 84. Bonnie will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Norma Jean Newton and James E. Wheeler; her son Philip Griffis; and her sisters, Margo Wheeler Smith and Denica Wheeler Joyce.
She is survived by: her daughters, Jacqueline Cordeiro (Anthony) of Bristol and Lydia Black (Dan Guy) of Estell Manor; her sister Betty Ruth Wheeler Nelson of Mayodan; her nieces, Sarah Ellen Smith and Amy Smith Linton; her grandchildren, Allyssa Cordeiro and Jacob Cordeiro; and her stepchildren, Shannon Knorr (Chris) of Celina, Texas, Kathryn Jones (Monte) of York, Pennsylvania and Sean Burns (Kathie) of Marysville, Pennsylvania.. She is also survived by eight step-grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
