We announce the death of Donald Knapman of Bristol, Rhode Island, who passed away on September 30, 2026, at the age of 84. Donald will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Donald will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Donald will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Donald’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest V. Knapman and Marion Knapman (Miller); and his brother Richard Knapman. He is survived by: his wife Linda P. Knapman (Marchetti); and his children, Laura Butler (Mike) of Bristol, Deborah Knapman, Stephen Knapman (Marie) of Bristol and Elizabeth Knapman (Paul) of Portsmouth. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the George C. Lima Funeral Home (367 High St, Bristol, RI 02809). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Michael's Episcopal Church (399 Hope St, Bristol, RI 02809).
