He is survived by: his wife Maria Da Ponte (Sousa); his children, Gil Da Ponte (Lynn Marie), Linda Leach (Alan) and Stephen Da Ponte (Lori); his grandchildren, Lily, Alan, III and Albert; and his sister Maria Gloria Melo. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
