James Dwyer Obituary
It is with sadness that the passing of James Dwyer (Bristol, Rhode Island) is shared. James, born on December 9, 1932 in Dorchester, Massachusetts, passed away on August 28, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
James will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor James by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though James is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. James’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Dwyer (Helen McHugh Dwyer) and Parish of Dorchester, MA.; and his brothers, Richard Dwyer and John Dwyer. He is survived by: his siblings, Maureen Bennett (Falmouth), Daniel Dwyer (Falmouth) and Michael Dwyer (Melrose). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Columban Fathers Chapel (65 Ferry Rd, Bristol, RI 02809). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the St. Mary's Cemetery.
