He was predeceased by: his parents, John F. McKenna, Jr. and D. Muriel McKenna (Seymour); his children, Patrick A. McKenna and First Sergeant P. Andrew McKenna, Jr.; and his siblings, Roberta Kinkead and John F. McKenna III.
He is survived by: his wife Carol A. McKenna (Fennell); his sister Mary Carreiro (McKenna) of Bristol, RI; and his sister-in-law Katherine F. Gere of Burlington, MA. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
