He was predeceased by : his parents, Mary Byron Gaudet (Fitzgerald) and Edward P. Byron. He is survived by : his wife Anne (Ricci); his children, Megan Monroe (Andrew) of Richmond, RI, Kerri Ogden (Steven) of Wilmington, NC and Evan Byron of Charlestown, RI; and his granddaughter Violet Monroe.

“Anne, Lee and I were very sad to hear of Ed's passing. We had a great deal in common, and a lasting friendship dating back to the early eighties. He will be missed for his friendship, wisdom and our shared passion for all things nautical or aviation related. We hope that you and the children find comfort in each other, and the knowledge that you have many friends in the community (us among them) upon whom you can call in this oh so difficult time.
