We announce the death of John E. Houston of Charlestown, Rhode Island, who passed away on August 5, 2026, at the age of 87. John will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. John will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. John’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis R. Houston and Melvina Houston (Young); his former wives, Janice Houston, Daisey Houston and Marion Houston; and his daughter Karen Zabel.
He is survived by: his children, Ed Houston, Lonny Houston, Gregg Brusseau, Hollie Tettlo, Jodi LaCroix and Tammy Renfrow. He is also survived by his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
