He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles H. Jones and Sarah M. Jones (Maynard); his son John Jones Jr.; and his siblings, Charles H. Jones Jr. and Lillian Ucci.
He is survived by: his wife Irene D. Jones (Lawrence); his daughter Cheryl Jones; his niece Charlene Lamake; and his friend Guy Moone. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews.
