James Powers Sr. Obituary

We announce the death of James Powers Sr. of Cranston, Rhode Island, who passed away on July 5, 2026. James will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his grandfather Jimbo (Powers); his wife Mary E. Powers (Dowd); his children, Beth DeSista (Tony), James (Maggie), Jeanne Talabac (Kevin), Kathleen Daniels (John), Kelley Phillips (Paul), Joseph (Julie) and Terrence (Ric); his parents, Joseph F. Powers and Marion Powers (Seymour); his siblings, Joseph Powers (Alice), Richard Powers (Georgia), Marion "Toppy" Long (Bernie) and Eugene Powers (Veronica); and his grandfather Bernie (Jim). He was also cherished by 90 nieces and nephews.
