He was predeceased by: his wife Mary E. Hinsley (Markowski); his parents, Robert E. Hinsley and Joan Hinsley (Catalina); and his sister Claudia Hinsley Berube. He is survived by: his children, Shira Marcure (Jason) of Taunton, MA and Denis Hinsley of North Providence, RI; and his brothers, Greg Hinsley of Michigan, Mark Hinsley of Coventry and Chris Hinsley of Florida.
