She was predeceased by: her husband H. William Carpenter; her son Todd B. Carpenter; and her parents, Doris E. Barton (Bainton) and Alfred C. "Ted" Barton Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Karen L. Monteiro (Mark) and Craig W. Carpenter (Susie); her sibling Jean B. Cooke; her grandchildren, Kelsey N. Casey (Brandon), Lauren V. Richards (Kyle), Kyle A. Carpenter (Jackie) and Alexander J. Grover (Tim); her great grandchildren, Avery, Lucas, Hudson and Patrick; her sibling Chi Omega; and her friends, Phyllis and Tad Riley. She is also survived by five nieces and three nephews.
