He was predeceased by: his father Jose Fernandes; and his sister Rosa Fernandes of Portugal. He is survived by: his wife Maria C. Pedro Fernandes; his son Andre Fernandes; his sisters, Maria of Fatima Alipio and Dorinda Fernandes of Switzerland; and his sister-in-law Maria Amelia Aoyama.
