He was predeceased by: his parents, Stella Smist (Baranowski) and Thaddeaus Smist. He is survived by: his daughter Heather Martins (Richard Martins) of Swansea, MA; and his grandsons, Michael, Joshua and Christopher. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren.
