With solemn reverence, we commemorate Richard Cooney of Cranston, Rhode Island, whose life came to an end on September 28, 2025 at the age of 73, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Kathleen M. "Kathy" Cooney (Hazelwood); his parents, Edward W. Cooney and Mary Marjorie Cooney (Sheridan); and his siblings, Edward W. Cooney, Jr., Kathleen Cooney, Maureen Cooney and Patricia Clifford.
He is survived by: his children, Michael E. Cooney (Mikala Watson), Ashley Cooney (Josh Ragosta) and Bryan A. Cooney; his granddaughter Sidney L. Cooney; and his siblings, Thomas Cooney and Margie Cooney.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 9:00 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the John and James Church (20 Washington St, West Warwick, RI 02893). A burial will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 11:30 AM at the St. Ann Cemetery (73 Church St, Cranston, RI 02920).
