She was predeceased by: her husband David Smith; her parents, Edmund Griffin and Arlene Griffin (Butler); and her sister Judy Lavendier. She is survived by: her children, Christopher Smith (Debra) of Cumberland, Heidi San Souci (Bryan) of Cape Coral, FL, Heather Rousseau (Wayne) of Lempster, NH and Jenna Smith (Matthew Pierson) of Cumberland; her siblings, Robert Griffin of North Carolina, Jane White of Lincoln and Joyce King of Florida; her grandchildren, Christa, Kayleigh, Trevor, Ethan, Brittany, Bekka, Bryan Jr., Jacob, Owen, Travis, Rook and Knox; and her great grandchildren, Charles, Silas, Thea and Zoya.

For many years, she managed the volunteer program at the RSVP Agency of Woonsocket teaching literacy to community members, as well as writing grants for additional funding.
