He was predeceased by: his wife Frances A. Hennigan (Spry); his parents, William Hennigan and Mary Hennigan (Fitzgerald); and his siblings, Edward Hennigan and Mary Lou Duray.

He is survived by: his children, James Hennigan Jr. and Mary Skalko (Michael); his grandchildren, Ian Skalko, Seamus Hennigan and Jason Skalko; and his brother William Hennigan.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the O'Neill Funeral Home (3102 Mendon Rd, Cumberland, RI 02864). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Saint Joan of Arc Church (3357 Mendon Rd, Cumberland, RI 02864).
