With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan M. Steele of Cumberland, Rhode Island, who passed away on November 26, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Fontaine and Loretta Fontaine (Angolia); her husband George Steele; and her brother Adelard Fontaine. She is survived by: her daughter Dawn LaPre (Rob); her granddaughters, Kayleigh and Riley; and her siblings, Walter Fontaine (Lily), Rosemarie Depault (Ray), Virginia Brandao (Manny), Susan DuBois (Barry) and Jackie Pignolet (Paul). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
