He was predeceased by: his parents, C. Elmer Nyberg and Ruth Linnea Nyberg; his grandson Aydan J. Nyberg; and his pet Tucker. He is survived by: his wife Deirdre (Dee); his sons, Isaiah, Elisha (Melody), Joshua and Kelby; his sister Pamela Carpenter (Louis); his grandchildren, Dlorah Hussey, Mikaela Nyberg and Idyllwild Nyberg; his brother-in-law Donald Flynn (Alma) of San Antonio; and his nephews, Donald, Marc and Matthew. He is also survived by 6 great nieces and nephews.
