He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Freitas and Marilyn Freitas (Tavares). He is survived by: his wife Karen J. Freitas (Jennings); his daughter Deannamarie Smith of East Providence; his stepchildren, Joseph Jennings of East Providence and Crystal Jennings of East Providence; his grandchildren, William Windfield IV, Jayda Winfield, Joseph Jennings, Jr., Jaylynn Jennings and Jayvien Delgado Rivas; and his siblings, Stephen Tavares, Jeffrey Freitas, Michele Holderman, Sherri Freitas and Benjamin Freitas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
