He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Freitas and Marilyn Freitas (Tavares). He is survived by: his wife Karen J. Freitas (Jennings); his daughter Deannamarie Smith of East Providence; his stepchildren, Joseph Jennings of East Providence and Crystal Jennings of East Providence; his grandchildren, William Windfield, Jayda Winfield, Joseph Jennings, Jr., Jaylynn Jennings and Jayvien Delgado Rivas; and his siblings, Stephen Tavares, Jeffrey Freitas, Michele Holderman, Sherri Freitas and Benjamin Freitas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Perry-McStay Funeral Home (2555 Pawtucket Ave, East Providence, RI 02914). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
