He was predeceased by: his parents, Joao Tavares Moniz and Margarida Do Amor Moniz (Devino); and his brothers, Jose Gabriel Tavares Moniz, Alvaro Tavares Moniz and Joao Tavares Moniz.
He is survived by: his wife Maria Cecelia Moniz (Melo); his children, Peter Moniz of Warwick, Suzana Moniz Lacomia (John) of Peyton and Diana Moniz Medeiros (Kevin) of Westport, MA.; his grandson Alexander Lacomia; and his siblings, Gilberto Moniz of Florida, Maria Conceicao Moniz Gonsalves of Providence and Lucia Tavares Moniz of Warwick.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 9:15 AM at the Rebello Funeral Home & Crematory (901 Broadway, East Providence, RI 02914). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of the Rosary Church (21 Traverse St, Providence, RI 02903). A committal service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery (550 Wampanoag Trl, Riverside, RI 02915).
