He was predeceased by: his father Henry Smart; and his son Keith M. Smart. He is survived by: his wife Jeannette F. "Jan" Smart (Souza); his children, Charles M. "Chuck" Smart, Jr., Shawn J. Smart and Melissa Bartick; and his grandchildren, Seth, Randy, Brooke, Corey, Zachary and Ava. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
