He was predeceased by: his parents, Matthew Tierney and Lillian Tierney (Herrity). He is survived by: his wife Christine P. Tierney (Laneres); his children, Robert J. Tierney Jr. (Carrie-Ann) of Pawtucket, RI and Lisa A. Dumais of Rochester, NH; and his grandchildren, Nathan Dumais of Rochester, NH, Robert J. Tierney III (Olivia) of Pawtucket, RI, Elizabeth Tierney of Pawtucket, RI and Briana Dumais of Rochester, NH.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the William W. Tripp Funeral Home (1008 Newport Ave, Pawtucket, RI 02861-2594). The military honors will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Margaret Church (1098 Pawtucket Ave, Rumford, RI 02916).
