He was predeceased by: his parents, Florence Garrahan (Vietz) of Bridgewater and John Edward Garrahan, Jr. of Providence; his wife Patricia Marie Garrahan of Providence; and his siblings, Wayne Garrahan, James Garrahan and Elaine Sheehan.
He is survived by: his sons, Stephen Garrahan (Jennifer) of North Smithfield and Ryan Garrahan (Gloria) of Lincoln; his grandchildren, Courtney, Michael, Lorelai, Lorenzo, Caroline and Layla; and his siblings, Sharon Blake of Warwick, William Garrahan (Arlene) of Texas and John Garrahan of Providence. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, a cause that was close to Michael's heart.
