He was predeceased by: his parents, George Gardiner and Marion P. Gardiner; his children, John A. Gardiner of Westerly and Eve Andrews (Gardiner) of Connecticut; and his siblings, William L. Gardiner and Mary Jane Cornell.
He is survived by: his son George Lloyd Gardiner; his grandchildren, Meredith, Therese and Derek; his great grandchildren, Autumn and Penny; his son-in-law Jon Andrews; his niece Christine Cornell; his close friend Jimmy Hirst; and his caregivers, Glenn and Sylvia Thompson.
