She was predeceased by : her parents, Francis Saran and Dorita Saran (Messier); her husband James Downey; her son Stephen Downey; and her siblings, Shirley Mello, Richard Saran, Arthur Saran, Ronald Saran and Robert Saran.

She is survived by : her children, Sharon Savela (Downey) and Keith Downey. She is also survived by six grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
