He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Foster Sr. and Ruth Foster (Minard); his brother Gerald Foster; and his sister-in-law Ellen Foster. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Foster (Walsh); his sons, Kenneth Foster (Jenna), Daniel Foster (Laura) of Ny and David Foster (Jennifer) of Johnston; his grandchildren, Maddie, Ramona, Colton and Addison Foster; and his siblings, William Foster (Tamara) of Narragansett and Sheryl Scully (Patrick). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
