She was predeceased by: her parents, Irving N. Vaughn and Edith Vaughn (Shelmerdine); and her siblings, Irving Vaughn and Marjorie Sunman. She is survived by: her husband Robert H. Mende; and her children, Dr. Joan M. Walsh (Kevin) of Chepachet, Christopher H. Mende (Catherine) of North Berwick, ME and Susan M. Pagliaro (Nicholas) of Johnston. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
