With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Rita A. Garcia of Lincoln, Rhode Island, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. As Rita departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Rita may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Rita leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her husband Luciano Almeida; her parents, Antonio and Maria; and her son Jose D'Almeida. She is survived by: her children, Emilia Macedo (Jose) of Lincoln, Maria L. Amaral (Joao) of Florida and Luciano D'Almeida. She is also survived by her twelve grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home (757 Mendon Rd, Cumberland, RI 02864). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of Fatima Church (1 Fatima Dr, Cumberland, RI 02864).
