Fran Costello wrote a sympathy message

“Ray was one of my favourite people of all time. I played on the 1971 P.C. Team with him and he was a wonderful friend. He had a rich sense of humour and was always fun to be with. A great competitor on the court and a gentleman both on and off the court. I saw quite a bit of Ray until I left the country in 1973 but always had and have fond memories of him. He was a great guy. Fran Costello”
