We are sad to announce that on May 4, 2026, at the age of 90, Walter L. McCarthy (Narragansett, Rhode Island) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the quiet moments of reflection, amidst the gentle rustle of leaves and the whispered song of the stars, we shall carry Walter's memory with us, a guiding light illuminating the path ahead. May Walter's journey be filled with peace and serenity, and may he find rest in the embrace of eternity.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter McCarthy and Hazel McCarthy (Lavin); and his sister Carol Jalbert. He is survived by: his wife Marguerite McCarthy (Matteson). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 8th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the St. Veronica Chapel (1035 Boston Neck Rd, Narragansett, RI 02882). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, May 8th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location.
