William Bean Obituary

William David Bean, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones on October 13, 2023. Known by many as Billy Bean, he was born and raised in Providence and settled in Narragansett where he raised his family and resided at his time of death.

He was the son of the late Barbara Bean.

He is survived by his wife Patricia Bean, his daughter Heather Moon and her husband Paul, daughter Mary Shierly and her husband Eric, and daughters Kylie Bean and Tara Bean. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Jeremiah, Jonah and Levi Moon, and Addison and Paige Shierly. He will be missed by his sister Debra Fowler of Maine, his Aunt Carol Hopkins, many nieces, nephews and extended family and good friends. He is predeceased by his grandparents who raised him, William and Mary Howe, his great aunt Lena Monaghan and his friend and uncle Richard Howe, aka Uncle Dickie. One of his favorite things to do was spend time with his beloved in-laws Eugene and Mary Remington who passed away before him.

Bill was a proud alumni of Lasalle Academy and Bryant University. He was an accountant for the RI Division of Taxation for many years before retiring in 2014. He loved coaching his daughters in softball and basketball through the town of Narragansett. He enjoyed spending time with his family, swimming at the pool, watching his grandkids play sports, hanging out with his friends and Lasalle buddies, and going to T's with his wife. To the dismay of his family he was a die hard Yankees fan yet always rooted for the underdog in any other sport. Bill was an avid beach goer of Bonnet Shores Beach Club, especially the adult swim time at the pool!

He will be deeply missed by his loved ones as he would do anything for his family and his absence is devastating. His family finds solace in knowing that he built a beautiful life, he is no longer in pain and left a beautiful legacy.

Bill's funeral will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 8:45 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road (Rte. 117) Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in St. Veronica Chapel 1035 Boston Neck Road, Narragansett. Interment will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, George Schaeffer Street, South Kingstown, RI 02879.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Lasalle Academy 612 Academy Ave, Providence, RI 02908 or St. Thomas More Church 53 Rockland St, Narragansett, RI 02882 in Bill's memory would be appreciated.
