With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Carol R Anderson (Newport, Rhode Island), who passed away on September 30, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ruth Patricia and Thomas Paul Raffa Sr.; her stepmother Agnes Faye Raffa (Bland); her brothers, Thomas P. Raffa Jr., Russell Raffa and Salvatore "Tore" Raffa; her children, Cheryl Wiedenbeck and Laurie Sharp; Edward Anthony Anderson Sr. (Tony).
She is survived by: her son Edward Anderson Jr.; and her grandchildren, Kayla, Sophia, Arielle, Analiese and Spencer.
A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (12 William St, Newport, RI 02840).
Carol's courage and generosity were best exemplified at the age of 55, when she gave one of the greatest gifts a mother can give donating a kidney to her daughter Laurie, saving her life.
